Rocky Creek is more than just a stunning farm and event venue—it is deeply rooted in history, love, and family legacy. Owned by third-generation Fox Glacier locals John and Kirsty Sullivan, the property carries the pioneering spirit of John’s ancestors who first carved out a life in this breathtakingly remote part of New Zealand. Generations ago, John’s family established this farm, and it has stayed in Sullivan's hands ever since. A vital part of their legacy is the airstrip, constructed in 1958 to support the village by bringing in goods and services no other way could. Over the years, it became a lifeline for the area, evolving to play host to skydive planes until the pandemic brought operations to a halt. Now, the airstrip is a striking feature of Rocky Creek, reinvented to host weddings, events, and ceremonies amidst its sprawling farmland and the dramatic beauty of the Southern Alps. The Sullivan family’s influence extends well beyond the farm. John’s grandparents were true trailblazers, founding the glacier guiding business that has become synonymous with Fox Glacier and building the iconic Fox Hotel to welcome travellers drawn to this remarkable region. This legacy of hospitality is carried on today by Kirsty, who brings over 30 years of experience in the industry. Her creativity and passion for welcoming guests shine through in every aspect of Rocky Creek, from its charming accommodation options to the unforgettable events hosted here. Today, Rocky Creek is a picturesque 100-acre farmlet, blending boutique accommodation, an enchanting wedding venue, and a working farm. Visitors are invited to stay in beautifully designed spaces, explore the property’s rich history, and create their forever memories surrounded by New Zealand’s natural splendour. Under John and Kirsty’s stewardship, Rocky Creek remains a testament to their family’s enduring connection to Fox Glacier and their commitment to sharing it with others.
