When it comes to finding a truly unique Fox Glacier wedding venue, Rocky Creek offers an unforgettable setting surrounded by native bush, mountain scenery and the wild beauty of New Zealand's West Coast.
In May 2025, we had the pleasure of hosting Lisa and Peter's wedding, a relaxed celebration shared with around 50 of their closest family and friends.
An Autumn Wedding on the West Coast
Like many West Coast weddings, the weather kept everyone guessing. After rain the evening before, the clouds cleared to reveal a beautiful autumn day - creating the perfect backdrop for Lisa and Peter's ceremony. The fresh air, lush greenery and peaceful surroundings made for a stunning setting, proving that autumn is a wonderful time of year to get married in Fox Glacier.
A Beautiful Blue Wedding Theme
Lisa chose to include Kirsty's wedding planning and styling service as part of her small wedding package, allowing her to relax and enjoy the lead-up to the big day while every detail was thoughtfully taken care of. Working closely with Lisa, Kirsty brought her vision to life, creating a stunning blue colour palette,as requested by Lisa, that flowed through the floral arrangements and styling. The elegant blue tones beautifully complemented the lush natural surroundings of Rocky Creek, resulting in a timeless celebration that felt perfectly at home in the heart of Fox Glacier.
Handcrafted Macrocarpa Tables Fox Glacier Wedding Venue
Lisa and Peter's wedding marked a special milestone for Rocky Creek.
For their celebration, we handcrafted our own solid macrocarpa timber tables and matching bench seats, which have since become a permanent part of our event furniture collection.
These beautiful locally crafted pieces continue to feature in many weddings and events held at Rocky Creek, adding warmth, character and an authentic rustic feel to every celebration.
A Relaxed Reception Under the Stars
Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed a relaxed evening of great food, music and dancing.
Local favourite Café Neve catered the reception, serving a delicious lamb on the spit, creating a warm and memorable dining experience that suited the rustic West Coast setting perfectly.
As the evening continued, live music from Double Talk, a band from Timaru, kept the dance floor full and the celebrations going well into the night.
